While I was in college, I had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic with 30 other students from SCAD as part of a venture trip with the Batey Rehab Project. This nonprofit organization focuses on transforming the lives of those living in underserved communities by improving housing, education, and access to resources. During the nine-day trip, I photographed local villagers for personal, commercial, and fine art projects, collaborating with creatives from fields such as architecture, interior design, film, and jewelry design. The work produced was used for media outreach and exhibitions, helping to educate and inform audiences about the project’s mission and inspire support for this important cause.
